YouthBuild is a FREE program for low-income, young adults in need of a certificate of High School Equivalency (HSE/GED) who are between the ages of 16 and 24 years old. Each YouthBuild cohort is 6 months in duration. There is a stipend for daily attendance. YouthBuild integrates work experience with education, occupational skills development in construction and other career pathways, support services, leadership development, and alumni success. At the end of the cohort, an additional 12 months of aftercare is provided. Case managers provide support and work with the participant to find employment or apply for post-secondary schooling.
YouthBuild graduates leave the program with a toolbox filled with more than a hammer and tape— they have a solid education, real-world work experience, goals for their future, a support system, and the self-confidence to know they can succeed!
